2023 NFL Combine Result Averages

2023 NFL Combine Result Averages (By Position)

The 2023 NFL Combine just wrapped up in Indianapolis.

I’m going through and averaging out all the numbers as they happen, by position (I also added the top performer of each drill at every position.).

This is something I always liked to do to share with players so they could see how they stacked up and potential areas of improvement they needed to work on. This time I’m sharing the results here.

Extra Notes

So far the biggest news on Day 1 is probably Calijay Kancey (4.67) has broken (according to the official time) fellow Pitt Panther alumni Aaron Donald’s all-time record in the 40 for a Defensive Tackle.

Georgia’s Nolan Smith running a sub 4.4 and jumping 41.5″ as a 240-pound edge rusher is just out of this world amazing.

Anthony Richardson put on a very impressive showing. He broke the Quarterback records for both the vertical jump (40.5″) and the broad jump (10’9″). His 4.43 40 while not a record is still one of the best times all-time for a quarterback.

The fastest man at the NFL Combine this year was DJ Turner II from Michigan who clocked in at a ridiculous 4.26. He was the only player to break 4.3 all weekend.

Finally, 6’8 Blake Freeland also had an extremely impressive showing as well. His 37″ vertical is the new record for Offensive Linemen and his 10’0″ broad jump missed the all-time best by only an inch. A 37″ vertical at 6’8″ and 302 pounds – absolutely nuts.

The sample size for the defensive backs and running backs on the short shuttles and 3 cone drill are very small. For example, only 3 safeties and 2 running backs ran the short shuttle and only 5 corners, 2 safeties and 2 running backs ran the 3 cone drill.
