Coach’s Notes
First and foremost, yes, the goal today is to hit a new training PR for Deadlifts. However, keep in mind that not even Olympians always hit a personal best on race day. Sometimes, it’s just not in the cards for you that day.
Maybe you didn’t sleep well. Maybe your normal lift schedule got thrown off, or perhaps a nagging injury gets a little too irritated.
Whatever the case may be, the moral of the story is – don’t force something that’s just not there today. And, don’t beat yourself up if it’s not.
It doesn’t mean you haven’t gotten stronger or haven’t made progress… it might just be a bad day.
