Gymreapers Dip Belt Review (From a Strength Coach)

I’ve tried and tested a ton of Dip Belts over the years.

Working as a collegiate strength coach for 20 years, I was able to buy equipment not just for myself, but for an entire weight room that hosted 500 athletes on a daily basis. This gives you the opportunity to try all kinds of different brands.

One product that was well-represented in the last couple of weight rooms I worked in (along with my own home gym) was the Gymreaper Dip Belt.

In this review, I’ll tell you why the Dip Belt from Gymreapers is a quality addition to your gym gear arsenal and perhaps, more importantly, I’ll tell you what to pay attention to when you’re looking for Dip Belts.

Dip Belts are not exactly the most complicated pieces of equipment. There are really only a couple of belt measurements that you need to take into consideration.

Keep in mind, there is really no better or worse with differences in specs, most come down to personal preference.

My Personal Review

I’m going to break my personal review into 3 different categories:

• Look
• Performance
• Durability

Look

How important the look is depends on the individual. Some people care (a lot) and some people don’t (at all).

Regardless of whether the look is important to you or not, it’s hard not to agree that this belt has a great look.

While it does come in multiple colors, I’m partial to the black belt with white lettering. It looks clean and the all-black will continue to look great way down the road.

Performance

Does the belt hold on your hips when you’re doing weighted dips and pull-ups or does it go sliding off?

It holds. It does its job and performs great.

To be honest though, I’ve not really ever had a problem with Dip Belts that didn’t function well. Maybe I’ve been lucky, but the weight hanging from the chain will hug the belt to your hips and keep it in place – for this belt and, I believe, most belts.

Durability

Durability, in my opinion, is the most important aspect to consider when buying a Dip Belt. And, this is where the Gymreaper Dip Belt shines.

While I’ve only had my personal Dip Belt for a few weeks now, I’ve used Gymreaper Dip Belts in multiple college weight rooms I’ve worked in.

They were used weekly by hundreds of athletes and took their fair share of abuse. Despite all of that use and abuse, I can’t recall ever having to replace one.

Because of that experience, it was a no-brainer which brand of Dip Belt I wanted in my own garage gym.

Bonus Tip: The Piece of the Belt That Matters

The piece of the belt that separates good Dip Belts from average belts is the piece of material, along with the stitching that holds the steel chain.

On average belts, either the material itself or the stitching (usually the stitching in my experience) will rip. And, once it does, that’s pretty much it for that belt.

If decide to continue shopping around after reading through this review, this is part of the belt that I would advise you to pay close attention to.

Should You Buy One?

This is the real purpose of checking out reviews, right?

Obviously, by now you know my answer to this is yes.

It’s a well-price belt, it works great (don’t forget looks good), and most importantly, is extremely durable.
