Coach’s Notes
Having a lifting partner can be a great thing. A lifting partner provides immediate accountability. When someone else is expecting you at the gym, it makes it a whole lot harder to skip last second when you’re ‘just too tired’.
It’s also someone that can spot you when you need it instead of having to ask some rando. And last but not least, it’s someone that you get to compete against daily (whether spoken or unspoken).
With that being said, there is nothing wrong with lifting solo – especially if you’re working out in a home gym. I’ve done it myself for a few years. You just have to hold yourself accountable and create goals or milestones that you’re always working toward, even if they’re small, simple ones.
