Coach’s Notes
Think of today as a sort of dress rehearsal… a prelude if you will to next week’s PR session.
Now, there are two ways to go about tomorrow and sometimes, honestly, it’s a bit of decision making on the fly.
Either, A, stick to finishing at the 90%. Move the weight smooth and with intent and leave plently in the tank for next week. It’s a great way to prep the body physically and build confidence mentally.
Or, B, sometimes the weight feels really good at 90%… like, really good. At that point, you may make the decision to strike while the iron is hot, cut it loose, and go for that PR now.
The only advice I would give is to only go with option B when the weight feels so good a PR is almost a sure thing. Don’t force it and don’t let your ego get in the way.
