Tallest NFL Punters

Who Are the Tallest Punters in the NFL? (2023-24)

I’ve been a Sports Performance Coach for two decades and I’ve always found it helpful to show the players I coached the heights and weights of NFL players at their position. And although size doesn’t really matter for the success of a punter, those guys love seeing how they stack up.

I did the same research this season that I do every year. I went through the 53-man active rosters for the 2023 NFL season, immediately following the final preseason cuts, a total of nearly 1700 players and broke them down by position.

By popular demand, I have put together this guide focusing on the NFL’s tallest punters. Get ready to learn some random, yet interesting, football facts that you can show off to your friends.

Tallest NFL Punters

In the NFL, where the average punter stands around 6’2 1/4″, there’s a bunch of guys who’ve clearly had their Wheaties, because they’re towering over the rest. We’re talking about the 9 tallest punters in the league, all standing 6’4″ or taller.

Their height might make them stand out in a crowd, but it’s their ability to send the ball flying, control its flight, and deal with the pressure of the game that really sets them apart. So next time you’re watching the game and see one of these towering punters step onto the field, remember, it’s not their height doing the work, it’s their talent and hard-earned skills.

Final Thoughts

This article on the tallest punters in the NFL, towering at 6’4″ and above, offers a fun glimpse into a position where height is more of a statistical curiosity than a performance requirement. From Trenton Gill of the Chicago Bears to Bradley Pinion of the Atlanta Falcons, these punters demonstrate that while they may stand out for their stature, it’s their skill in punting that truly makes the difference.

Their success in the NFL is attributed to their ability to deliver powerful and precise punts, control the field position, and handle the game’s pressure, rather than their height.
